PeptideDB database assembles all naturally occurring signalling peptides from animal source, which are derived by cleavage from prepropeptide precursor proteins. It includes Cytokine and growth factor, Peptide hormones, Antimicrobial peptides, Toxins and venom peptides, and Antifreeze proteins. PeptideDB database (version 1.0, 2008-04-25) consists of 20,027 peptides from 19,438 precursor proteins covering 2,820 metazoan species belonging to 373 peptide families in total.

PeptideDB database is developed by Data Analysis & Modeling Group at Hasselt University and Functional Genomics and Proteomics Unit at K.U. Leuven.
